When it comes to extrusion lines, laser machines must mark, cut or drill parts that are constantly moving. That is why CMS Laser developed on-the-fly technology with closed loop feedback to process parts as they travel past the laser field. These systems account for variations in line speed and can incorporate vision systems to validate part placement and process quality.
The laser source is chosen by CMS Laser’s applications lab through a free in-house sample testing study to determine the best laser and optics for the given material. Typically, an ultraviolet or green laser is used to mark black and yellow plastic piping. CMS Laser’s engineers will work with you to develop the process and decide on any modifications if needed.
